The Bilstein B8 5100 Monotube Shocks Front Pair are high-performance suspension components designed for 2013-2023 Ram 3500 4WD trucks with a 2-2.5 inch front lift. Constructed with a monotube design and a 46mm digressive piston, these shocks enhance handling both on and off-road by reducing body roll and nose dive while providing a smoother ride over bumps and rough terrain. They are extended length shocks tailored specifically for lifted vehicles, offering increased durability, corrosion resistance with a zinc plating finish, and the ability to handle heavy-duty loads, towing, and off-road conditions. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty, they ensure long-lasting performance and reliability in demanding environments.
Designed exclusively for 4WD Ram 3500 models within the specified year range, these shocks are ideal for lifted vehicles with larger tires or higher centers of gravity. They are a direct bolt-on replacement, reusing factory shock mounting bolts, with all necessary washers, bushings, reservoir clamps, and nuts included—mounting plates are sold separately. Suitable for both daily driving and off-road use, these shocks improve vehicle stability, ride quality, and off-road capability, making them a versatile upgrade for trucks with 2-2.5 inch front lifts. They are not recommended for factory-spec vehicles, which should use Bilstein 4600 series shocks for optimal performance.

[Blog Post: Bilstein 5100 vs. 4600, Major Differences](https://www.shocksurplus.com/pages/bilstein-4600-vs-5100-series-the-lowdown)
Bilstein 5100 shocks utilize a monotube design, with a 46mm digressive piston, to increase road handling characteristics both on and off-road. The single tube body allows for rapid heat transfer between the shock oil to the shock body, and then dissipated further to reduce shock fade. German engineering combined with US manufacturing ensures optimum performance and longevity for upwards of 100k miles (real customer feedback!). The 5100 series is more compliant in tougher situations and off-road terrain compared to the 4600 series. Factory spec vehicles should use the 4600 series shocks as the valving is more appropriate for daily driven vehicles and pavement environments.
