The Bilstein B8 5100 Monotube Shocks Front Pair are high-performance suspension components designed for 4WD vehicles with a 2-4 inch front lift. Constructed with a monotube design and a 46mm digressive piston, these shocks provide improved handling both on and off-road. They feature a zinc-plated finish for corrosion resistance and are engineered to handle increased loads, towing, and rugged terrain. The shocks reduce body roll and nose dive, offering a more compliant ride over bumps and holes, making them suitable for lifted vehicles with larger tires or off-road use. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty, they ensure durability and long-lasting performance in harsh environments.
Designed specifically for 1988-2000 Chevrolet K2500 4WD models, these shocks are a direct bolt-on upgrade for vehicles with 2-4 inch front lifts. They are intended for use on factory-spec vehicles with larger tires or lifted suspensions, providing enhanced off-road capability and load handling. The package includes all necessary hardware such as washers, bushings, reservoir clamps, and nuts, with factory shock mounting bolts reused during installation. Mounting plates are sold separately. Ideal for daily driving, off-road adventures, or towing, these shocks deliver a versatile, durable solution for demanding driving conditions.

[Blog Post: Bilstein 5100 vs. 4600, Major Differences](https://www.shocksurplus.com/pages/bilstein-4600-vs-5100-series-the-lowdown)
Bilstein 5100 shocks utilize a monotube design, with a 46mm digressive piston, to increase road handling characteristics both on and off-road. The single tube body allows for rapid heat transfer between the shock oil to the shock body, and then dissipated further to reduce shock fade. German engineering combined with US manufacturing ensures optimum performance and longevity for upwards of 100k miles (real customer feedback!). The 5100 series is more compliant in tougher situations and off-road terrain compared to the 4600 series. Factory spec vehicles should use the 4600 series shocks as the valving is more appropriate for daily driven vehicles and pavement environments.
