▶ Vehicle Fitments
The Bilstein B8 5100 Monotube Shocks are high-performance front shock absorbers designed for lifted vehicles with 3-6 inches of front lift. Constructed with a monotube design and a 46mm digressive piston, these shocks enhance handling both on and off-road by reducing body roll and nose dive while providing a more compliant ride over bumps and rough terrain. They feature a zinc-plated finish for corrosion and rust resistance, ensuring durability in harsh environments. Suitable for heavy-duty loads, towing, and off-road use, the B8 5100 series offers rapid heat dissipation and reduced shock fade, making it ideal for lifted trucks and larger tires.
These shocks are specifically engineered for 2001-2009 Mazda B2300 RWD models with a front lift of 3-6 inches. They are a direct bolt-on replacement for factory shocks, with all necessary washers, bushings, reservoir clamps, and nuts included for installation—factory shock mounting bolts are reused. Designed exclusively for rear-wheel-drive vehicles, these shocks are perfect for lifted trucks used in daily driving, off-road adventures, or work applications. Mounting plates are sold separately, and factory specifications should be followed for optimal fitment and performance.

[Blog Post: Bilstein 5100 vs. 4600, Major Differences](https://www.shocksurplus.com/pages/bilstein-4600-vs-5100-series-the-lowdown)
Bilstein 5100 shocks utilize a monotube design, with a 46mm digressive piston, to increase road handling characteristics both on and off-road. The single tube body allows for rapid heat transfer between the shock oil to the shock body, and then dissipated further to reduce shock fade. German engineering combined with US manufacturing ensures optimum performance and longevity for upwards of 100k miles (real customer feedback!). The 5100 series is more compliant in tougher situations and off-road terrain compared to the 4600 series. Factory spec vehicles should use the 4600 series shocks as the valving is more appropriate for daily driven vehicles and pavement environments.
