The Bilstein B8 5100 Monotube Shocks Rear Pair are high-performance shock absorbers designed for 2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee models. Featuring a monotube design with a 46mm digressive piston, these shocks enhance handling both on and off-road by reducing body roll and nose dive while providing increased compliance over bumps and holes. Built with a durable zinc plating, they offer excellent corrosion and rust resistance in harsh environments. The B8 5100 series is engineered to handle heavy-duty loads, towing, and rugged terrain, making them ideal for lifted vehicles or those with larger tires. The shocks are backed by a Bilstein Limited Lifetime Warranty, ensuring protection against defects and premature failure, and include all necessary hardware for installation, with factory shock mounting bolts reused.
Designed for vehicles at factory height or with up to 1.5" rear lift, these shocks fit both 4WD and RWD Jeep Grand Cherokees from 2005 to 2010, excluding SRT8 models. They are suitable for vehicles with no suspension modifications or mild lifts, providing a versatile upgrade for daily driving and off-road use. The package includes two shock absorbers, washers, bushings, reservoir clamps, and nuts, with mounting plates sold separately. These shocks are perfect for owners seeking improved ride quality, durability, and off-road capability, serving as a direct replacement for factory units in lifted or larger tire setups.

[Blog Post: Bilstein 5100 vs. 4600, Major Differences](https://www.shocksurplus.com/pages/bilstein-4600-vs-5100-series-the-lowdown)
Bilstein 5100 shocks utilize a monotube design, with a 46mm digressive piston, to increase road handling characteristics both on and off-road. The single tube body allows for rapid heat transfer between the shock oil to the shock body, and then dissipated further to reduce shock fade. German engineering combined with US manufacturing ensures optimum performance and longevity for upwards of 100k miles (real customer feedback!). The 5100 series is more compliant in tougher situations and off-road terrain compared to the 4600 series. Factory spec vehicles should use the 4600 series shocks as the valving is more appropriate for daily driven vehicles and pavement environments.
