The Bilstein B8 5100 Monotube Shocks Rear Pair are high-performance suspension components designed for 3-6 inch rear lift systems on 1997-2002 Ford Expeditions with rear-wheel drive. Constructed with a monotube design and a 46mm digressive piston, these shocks enhance handling both on and off-road by reducing body roll and nose dive while providing increased compliance over bumps and holes. They are built with a durable zinc plating to resist corrosion and rust in harsh environments, ensuring long-lasting performance. The shocks are extended length to accommodate larger tires and lifted vehicles, making them ideal for off-road use, towing, and heavy-duty loads. They come with factory hardware, including washers, bushings, reservoir clamps, and nuts, for straightforward installation, reusing factory mounting bolts.
Designed specifically for 1997-2002 Ford Expeditions with rear-wheel drive, these shocks are suitable for vehicles with 3-6 inch rear lifts. They are compatible with front lifts of 3 inches using A-arm style lifts or 6 inches with A-arm and spindle style lifts. The kit includes two shocks and is intended for lifted vehicles with larger wheels and tires or higher centers of gravity. These shocks are a direct replacement for factory units, providing improved ride quality, durability, and off-road capability. They are ideal for daily driving, off-road adventures, and towing, offering a versatile upgrade for lifted Ford Expeditions.

Bilstein 5100 shocks utilize a monotube design, with a 46mm digressive piston, to increase road handling characteristics both on and off-road. The single tube body allows for rapid heat transfer between the shock oil to the shock body, and then dissipated further to reduce shock fade. German engineering combined with US manufacturing ensures optimum performance and longevity for upwards of 100k miles (real customer feedback!). The 5100 series is more compliant in tougher situations and off-road terrain compared to the 4600 series. Factory spec vehicles should use the 4600 series shocks as the valving is more appropriate for daily driven vehicles and pavement environments.
