The Cognito 11-25 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500/3500HD Steering Idler Arm is a high-quality replacement component designed to restore proper steering function and stability. Constructed to meet or exceed OEM specifications, this idler arm features durable materials and precise engineering to ensure long-lasting performance. It is compatible with models equipped for a steering stabilizer, providing a reliable connection point on the right side of the steering center link. The design accommodates the tapered hole near the idler arm for secure mounting, and it is engineered to work seamlessly with aftermarket stabilizers like FOX. This component enhances steering responsiveness and durability, especially under demanding driving conditions.

This idler arm fits 2011–2014 and most 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500/3500HD trucks. Vehicles from these years retain the center link mounting provision, but only certain models include the OEM frame-side mounting clevis, which may interfere with the Cognito bracket and must be removed for proper installation. It is intended for use in heavy-duty applications, including towing and off-road driving, where steering stability is critical. The kit is a direct replacement for factory parts, ensuring straightforward bolt-on installation. Compatibility notes highlight the need to remove the factory clevis if present, as the included FOX stabilizer is not compatible with the OEM mounting location.

Overview

For model years 2011–2014 and most of 2015, GM included OEM provisions for a steering stabilizer, requiring two mounting points: one on the right side of the steering center link and one on the left side of the frame. All 2011+ models retain the center link mounting provision—a tapered hole near the idler arm. However, only 2011–2014 and select 2015 trucks came with the frame-side mounting clevis (two welded tabs on the crossmember). This OEM clevis interferes with the Cognito bracket and must be removed if present, as the included FOX stabilizer is not compatible with the factory mounting location.
