The Cusco LSD Type-RS 1.5 Way Front is a high-performance limited slip differential designed for Honda Civic and Integra models from 1996 to 2001, equipped with B16 or B18 engines. Engineered to optimize traction, this LSD features adjustable settings that can be modified with a simple overhaul, allowing drivers to tailor the differential's behavior to their driving style or track conditions. The Type RS utilizes springs to absorb initial torque, providing a smoother engagement compared to the Type MZ. Its lower friction design ensures more efficient power transfer to the wheels, reducing power loss and enhancing acceleration. This differential is built for enthusiasts seeking improved handling, reduced lap times, and better control during spirited driving or racing.
Suitable for front-wheel-drive Honda Civic and Integra models within the 1996-2001 production years, the Cusco LSD Type-RS is a direct upgrade or replacement for stock differentials. It is ideal for street, track, or performance driving where enhanced traction and responsiveness are desired. The unit offers a 1.5-way configuration, providing locking under acceleration while allowing free rotation during deceleration, which benefits cornering and stability. Installation involves replacing the existing differential with this bolt-on component, and it includes all necessary components for a straightforward upgrade. This LSD is compatible with vehicles that have the specified engine and chassis configurations, making it a reliable choice for performance-oriented drivers.

Overview
A Cusco Limited Slip Differential offers the absolute best in traction. Cusco LSD allow you to choose 2 of 3 settings with each unit just with a simple overhaul. The Type RS springs absorb the initial torque. Compared to the Type MZ, the Type RS s initial torque comes on more gently. The response of the RS has lower friction and in turn, is transfers power to the ground more efficiently. The Low Initial Torque means Less Power Loss. This equates to lower lap times, even for a mildly tuned vehicle. The low pressure on the clutch plates improves durability and lowers chatter. To top it off, the reduced pressure allows the driver to change the LSD oil less frequently. Steady coil movement is assured by special precision springs set in the pressure plate. These springs are made to be resilient and allow for stable operation. Because these plates do not utilize a cone clutch, they do not stick and allow for increased longevity. The Type RS transfers extreme power without slipping and responds quickly with pedal inputs. This differential is ideal for drag racing or going for drifting. Contact Us with any questions..
Cusco recommends the following setups for the following drivetrains.
- 1 way LSD: Specially suited for front wheel drive cars and AWD front axle cars.Activates under acceleration, and acts as a true LSD when the throttle is off.
- 1.5 way LSD: Activates under acceleration with less under-steer under deceleration than on a 2 way LSD. Recommended for those who want to reduce under-steer.
- 2 way LSD: Recommended on rear wheel drive cars and AWD rear axle cars. Activates on both acceleration and deceleration. Recommended for those who prefer aggressive driving and big angle drifting.
