The Cusco LSD Type-RS 2 Way Rear is a limited slip differential designed for Mazda NA8C, NB6C, and NB8C models from 1994 to 2005. This high-performance component enhances traction by distributing power more effectively to the wheels, especially during cornering and acceleration. The Type RS features springs that absorb initial torque, providing a smoother engagement compared to the Type MZ. Its lower friction response allows for more efficient power transfer to the ground, reducing power loss and improving lap times even on mildly tuned vehicles. Constructed with precision engineering, this LSD offers adjustable settings through simple overhauls, giving drivers the flexibility to optimize handling for various driving conditions.
Designed specifically for 1994–2005 Mazda NA8C, NB6C, and NB8C models, the Cusco LSD Type-RS is a direct replacement upgrade for the rear differential. It is ideal for track days, spirited driving, or performance-oriented street use, where enhanced traction and handling are desired. Installation is straightforward for those familiar with differential upgrades, and the kit includes the necessary components for a complete swap. Compatibility is limited to the specified Mazda chassis and engine configurations, ensuring optimal performance and fitment. This LSD provides a reliable, high-quality solution for drivers seeking improved cornering and acceleration capabilities.

Overview
A Cusco Limited Slip Differential offers the absolute best in traction. Cusco LSD allow you to choose 2 of 3 settings with each unit just with a simple overhaul. The Type RS springs absorb the initial torque. Compared to the Type MZ, the Type RS s initial torque comes on more gently. The response of the RS has lower friction and in turn, is transfers power to the ground more efficiently. The Low Initial Torque means Less Power Loss. This equates to lower lap times, even for a mildly tuned vehicle. The low pressure on the clutch plates improves durability and lowers chatter. To top it off, the reduced pressure allows the driver to change the LSD oil less frequently. Steady coil movement is assured by special precision springs set in the pressure plate. These springs are made to be resilient and allow for stable operation. Because these plates do not utilize a cone clutch, they do not stick and allow for increased longevity. The Type RS transfers extreme power without slipping and responds quickly with pedal inputs. This differential is ideal for drag racing or going for drifting. Contact Us with any questions..
Cusco recommends the following setups for the following drivetrains.
- 1 way LSD: Specially suited for front wheel drive cars and AWD front axle cars.Activates under acceleration, and acts as a true LSD when the throttle is off.
- 1.5 way LSD: Activates under acceleration with less under-steer under deceleration than on a 2 way LSD. Recommended for those who want to reduce under-steer.
- 2 way LSD: Recommended on rear wheel drive cars and AWD rear axle cars. Activates on both acceleration and deceleration. Recommended for those who prefer aggressive driving and big angle drifting.
