The Cusco Limited Slip Differential Type-RS 2 Way Rear is a high-performance LSD designed for the Mazda Roadster (NCEC). Engineered to optimize traction, this limited slip differential features adjustable settings that can be modified with a simple overhaul, allowing drivers to tailor the response to their driving style. The Type RS model employs springs that absorb initial torque, providing a smoother engagement compared to the Type MZ. Its lower friction design ensures more efficient power transfer to the wheels, reducing power loss and enhancing overall grip. This differential is built for enthusiasts seeking improved handling, reduced lap times, and better stability during aggressive driving or track use.
Compatible with Mazda Roadster models, the LSD is suitable for vehicles from 2002 to 2005, equipped with the NCEC engine. It serves as a direct upgrade or replacement for the stock differential, offering a significant performance boost for street or track applications. The unit allows for customizable settings to match various driving conditions, making it ideal for motorsport or spirited driving. Installation typically involves bolt-on replacement, and the kit includes the necessary components for a straightforward upgrade. This Cusco LSD is designed to deliver enhanced traction, responsiveness, and durability for demanding driving environments.

Overview
A Cusco Limited Slip Differential offers the absolute best in traction. Cusco LSD allow you to choose 2 of 3 settings with each unit just with a simple overhaul. The Type RS springs absorb the initial torque. Compared to the Type MZ, the Type RS s initial torque comes on more gently. The response of the RS has lower friction and in turn, is transfers power to the ground more efficiently. The Low Initial Torque means Less Power Loss. This equates to lower lap times, even for a mildly tuned vehicle. The low pressure on the clutch plates improves durability and lowers chatter. To top it off, the reduced pressure allows the driver to change the LSD oil less frequently. Steady coil movement is assured by special precision springs set in the pressure plate. These springs are made to be resilient and allow for stable operation. Because these plates do not utilize a cone clutch, they do not stick and allow for increased longevity. The Type RS transfers extreme power without slipping and responds quickly with pedal inputs. This differential is ideal for drag racing or going for drifting. Contact Us with any questions..
Cusco recommends the following setups for the following drivetrains.
- 1 way LSD: Specially suited for front wheel drive cars and AWD front axle cars.Activates under acceleration, and acts as a true LSD when the throttle is off.
- 1.5 way LSD: Activates under acceleration with less under-steer under deceleration than on a 2 way LSD. Recommended for those who want to reduce under-steer.
- 2 way LSD: Recommended on rear wheel drive cars and AWD rear axle cars. Activates on both acceleration and deceleration. Recommended for those who prefer aggressive driving and big angle drifting.
