The Cusco LSD Type-RS 2-Way Rear is a high-performance limited slip differential designed for the Mitsubishi Evolution models from 1994 to 2015. Engineered to optimize traction and power transfer, this LSD features adjustable settings that can be modified with a simple overhaul, allowing drivers to tailor the differential's behavior to their driving style. The Type RS utilizes springs to absorb initial torque, providing a smoother engagement compared to the Type MZ. Its lower friction response ensures more efficient power delivery to the wheels, reducing power loss and improving overall handling. This differential is built with precision components to enhance grip during aggressive driving, making it an ideal upgrade for enthusiasts seeking improved lap times and cornering performance.

Designed specifically for the Evo 94-15 chassis, the Cusco LSD Type-RS is a direct replacement for the factory differential, offering a reliable upgrade for street, track, or spirited driving. Its 2-way configuration provides balanced performance for both acceleration and deceleration, making it suitable for various racing and high-performance applications. Installation involves replacing the stock unit with this bolt-on component, and it is compatible with the vehicle's existing drivetrain setup. The kit includes the LSD unit itself, with no additional components required for installation. This differential is perfect for drivers looking to maximize traction and control in demanding driving conditions, whether on the street or the race track.

Overview

A Cusco Limited Slip Differential offers the absolute best in traction. Cusco LSD allow you to choose 2 of 3 settings with each unit just with a simple overhaul. The Type RS springs absorb the initial torque. Compared to the Type MZ, the Type RS s initial torque comes on more gently. The response of the RS has lower friction and in turn, is transfers power to the ground more efficiently. The Low Initial Torque means Less Power Loss. This equates to lower lap times, even for a mildly tuned vehicle. The low pressure on the clutch plates improves durability and lowers chatter. To top it off, the reduced pressure allows the driver to change the LSD oil less frequently. Steady coil movement is assured by special precision springs set in the pressure plate. These springs are made to be resilient and allow for stable operation. Because these plates do not utilize a cone clutch, they do not stick and allow for increased longevity. The Type RS transfers extreme power without slipping and responds quickly with pedal inputs. This differential is ideal for drag racing or going for drifting. Contact Us with any questions..

Cusco recommends the following setups for the following drivetrains.

  • 1 way LSD: Specially suited for front wheel drive cars and AWD front axle cars.Activates under acceleration, and acts as a true LSD when the throttle is off.
  • 1.5 way LSD: Activates under acceleration with less under-steer under deceleration than on a 2 way LSD. Recommended for those who want to reduce under-steer.
  • 2 way LSD: Recommended on rear wheel drive cars and AWD rear axle cars. Activates on both acceleration and deceleration. Recommended for those who prefer aggressive driving and big angle drifting.
