The Cusco LSD Type RS 2 Way (55/55 Deg) for the Mazda Miata ND5RC 2.0L is a high-performance limited slip differential designed to enhance traction and handling. Engineered with adjustable settings, this LSD allows users to select two of three configurations through a simple overhaul, providing customizable performance. The Type RS features springs that absorb initial torque, resulting in a gentler engagement compared to the Type MZ. Its lower friction response ensures more efficient power transfer to the ground, reducing power loss and improving overall grip. This differential is ideal for track days, spirited driving, and performance tuning, offering precise control and improved lap times even on mildly tuned vehicles.
Designed specifically for the Mazda Miata ND5RC models from 2016 onward with a 2.0L engine, the Cusco LSD Type RS is a direct replacement for the stock differential. It is suitable for street, track, and performance driving applications, providing enhanced traction and stability during aggressive cornering. Installation involves a straightforward bolt-on process, making it accessible for experienced enthusiasts and professional mechanics alike. The kit includes the LSD unit and necessary components for installation, ensuring compatibility with the vehicle’s existing drivetrain. This LSD is an excellent upgrade for drivers seeking improved handling and reduced wheel spin in various driving conditions.

Overview
A Cusco Limited Slip Differential offers the absolute best in traction. Cusco LSD allow you to choose 2 of 3 settings with each unit just with a simple overhaul. The Type RS springs absorb the initial torque. Compared to the Type MZ, the Type RS s initial torque comes on more gently. The response of the RS has lower friction and in turn, is transfers power to the ground more efficiently. The Low Initial Torque means Less Power Loss. This equates to lower lap times, even for a mildly tuned vehicle. The low pressure on the clutch plates improves durability and lowers chatter. To top it off, the reduced pressure allows the driver to change the LSD oil less frequently. Steady coil movement is assured by special precision springs set in the pressure plate. These springs are made to be resilient and allow for stable operation. Because these plates do not utilize a cone clutch, they do not stick and allow for increased longevity. The Type RS transfers extreme power without slipping and responds quickly with pedal inputs. This differential is ideal for drag racing or going for drifting. Contact Us with any questions..
Cusco recommends the following setups for the following drivetrains.
- 1 way LSD: Specially suited for front wheel drive cars and AWD front axle cars.Activates under acceleration, and acts as a true LSD when the throttle is off.
- 1.5 way LSD: Activates under acceleration with less under-steer under deceleration than on a 2 way LSD. Recommended for those who want to reduce under-steer.
- 2 way LSD: Recommended on rear wheel drive cars and AWD rear axle cars. Activates on both acceleration and deceleration. Recommended for those who prefer aggressive driving and big angle drifting.
