HKS Hipermax S Coilovers with Front Pillowball Mount and Error Canceller - Subaru WRX FA24 2022+

The popular HIPERMAX S for the WRX S4 now comes equipped with a front pillow upper mount, allowing for camber angle adjustment. While the stock electronically controlled suspension often felt unsteady and fluffy in comfort mode and overly sensitive to minor bumps in sport mode, this advanced system transforms the ride quality. With large-diameter, single-cylinder pistons, the high-performance shock absorbers deliver a smooth yet firm ride, effortlessly absorbing small bumps while providing strong damping force on uneven surfaces and during cornering. This setup improves road handling and stability, offering a more connected and controlled driving experience. Additionally, the included error canceller prevents errors from appearing when the stock electronically controlled suspension is removed.

Features

• Single-cylinder type: The traditional single-cylinder design of the Hypermax series is used. The structure allows the gas chamber and oil chamber to be separated, and a large-diameter piston can be used, resulting in high-quality and stable damping force characteristics.
• The strut type is an inverted type: It provides a firm sense of rigidity against stress, which is beneficial for various performance aspects while driving, resulting in excellent handling and ride comfort.
• Dual PVS: Dual preload valve system: The preload valve system (PVS), which has a good reputation and is adopted in S-style L, S-style C, and MAX IV GT 20SPEC, is now dualized. By smoothing the characteristics on the extension side while suppressing unnecessary movement, the high-quality and flat ride that sticks to the road has been further refined.
• WR Needle: Wide range damping force adjustment mechanism: The shape of the damping force adjustment needle has been revised, the oil flow rate has been changed, and the relief passage has been enlarged. The dial change range for the 30-stage damping force adjustment has been expanded. The characteristics have been expanded toward the softer side, expanding the range of settings in the softer direction. The tuning range for improving the ride feel in the softer direction has been expanded, such as when driving around town.
• Advanced Bumper Rubber: HKS studied how to use bump rubbers when developing the MAX IV GT Spec-A. We sought more proactive ways to use bump rubbers and developed technology that can be used in settings. We were able to obtain knowledge that can be used as an element of damper tuning. The Spec-A bump rubber is soft and long, with a shape that aims for early bump touch and gradually increases the load. It has smooth transient characteristics with good connection, suppressing sudden changes in movement. For the development of the HIPERMAX S, we developed the ADVANCED BUMP RUBBER. We pursued softness even further, designed a type with shorter dimensions, and increased the variations to expand vehicle coverage and tuning range, contributing to the realization of a more natural and smooth movement.
• PNE Court: It prevents the sticking caused by rust, which is a drawback for full-length adjustments. Also, the smooth surface reduces the force required to adjust the vehicle height.
• Reinforced rubber upper mount: Reinforced rubber is used to provide a more moderate tightening than the stock upper mount. It absorbs small body vibrations and provides a smooth ride.
• Attention to aesthetics: Chamfered upper mount: The aluminum upper mount is machined to create a chamfered edge, enhancing the beauty of the product. By adding an extra step to the processing process, we have improved the feel in your hand and the appearance of the product.
• Commitment to aesthetics: Laser marking: The delicate letters created by laser marking, which is not possible with pad printing, give the logo a luxurious feel.
• 3-year/60,000km warranty/overhaul possible: As a result of a major review of the internal structure from the HIPERMAX IV GT series, we were able to obtain high durability specifications that guarantee a 3-year 60,000 km warrantyinstead of the previous 2-year 40,000 km. The reason for the evolution is that HKS's in-house development facilities have been enhanced and durability testing machines have been introduced, making it possible to quantitatively evaluate development and correlate evaluations on the bench with those on the actual vehicle. By passing the bench durability test and the actual driving test of more than 3-year 60,000 km, we have been able to obtain evidence of improved durability performance within the company. We believe that the biggest advantage of consistent in-house production is that we can reliably control quality. The basic structure of the 3-year 60,000 km high durability specification was completed during the development of HIPERMAX G, and specifications with different cylinder diameters were introduced in S-STYLE. With a proven track record, it became the first sports model damper series to be given a 3-year 60,000 km warranty in-house.
