The HKS Hipermax R Coilovers for the Mazda RX-8 SE3P (04-12) are high-performance suspension systems designed to enhance handling and driving dynamics. Engineered with the latest suspension technology, these coilovers feature increased spring rates to improve responsiveness while maintaining comfort for daily driving. They incorporate dedicated components to address rear suspension weaknesses, allowing for a wider range of ride height adjustments and the use of longer springs. This results in improved stability, cornering precision, and overall vehicle control, making them suitable for both street and spirited driving.

Designed specifically for the 2004 to 2012 Mazda RX-8 SE3P models, these coilovers are a direct replacement for factory suspension components. They are ideal for enthusiasts seeking a balance between performance and comfort, whether for street use or track days. The kit includes adjustable dampers and hardware necessary for installation, providing a customizable setup to suit various driving preferences. Compatible with models equipped with the appropriate chassis and suspension specifications, these coilovers deliver a significant upgrade in handling capabilities.

Overview

Utilizing the latest suspension technology, this system achieves a higher spring rate while maintaining everyday comfort, delivering a noticeable improvement in driving performance and handling precision. Specially engineered to address the structural weaknesses of the rear suspension, the kit incorporates new dedicated components that allow for a wider range of ride height adjustments and the ability to use longer springs, enhancing both functionality and performance. Compared to the previous MAX IV SP model, the revised design offers easier rear height adjustments without the need to remove and reinstall the springs, greatly improving convenience for fine-tuning setups. Additionally, the integration of a new helper spring for the rear ensures adequate extension stroke, significantly enhancing rear tire grip—especially the inside tire during circuit driving, contributing to improved stability, traction, and cornering performance. This suspension is designed for drivers who demand sharp handling, easy adjustability, and comfort for both street and track use.

To address the RX-8's unique problem of difficulty in securing rear stroke, adopted a newly designed rear case and helper spring to ensure a larger stroke amount. The rear stroke is secured with the aim of suppressing the spin of the inside rear tire, not only with a mechanical LSD but also with the original LSD. The circuit test was conducted with the standard size 265/35R18 (ADVAN A052) based on the concept of "specifications close to the user's usage conditions." The vehicle height adjustment range was selected so that ground clearance could be secured even with the above tire size. It was designed with the possibility of further development after purchase, such as increasing camber beyond the original arm state, and with the aim of improving lap times in mind.
