Overview

The intake cam side of the RB26DETT is changed to allow variable valve timing. The cam has duration of 248 degrees which seem a little conservative. However, with the variable timing, power increases can be found at low or high RPM.Whether you are looking to find some time on the circuit through improve acceleration out of lower speed corners, or simply want something which can overtake with ease on the street, the HKS V Cam System provides good power from low RPM reducing the necessity for excessive gear changes. This especially noticeable when going from vacuum to boost to give the feeling of increased displacement.Improved valve timing will allow for more complete combustion leading to improved fuel efficiency and cleaner exhaust emissions. HKS V CAM System is compatible with the stock pistons. When using with the thinner head gaskets or modified cylinder head, the clearance between valve and piston may be insufficient.Exhaust cam should be selected dependent on turbo choice. Recommended: GT-SS-256 degrees, GT2530-264 degrees

NOTE: Compatible the stock piston. Surface polishing on the cylinder or using a thin gasket may cause insufficient clearance between the valve and the piston.

  • Do not use this product if the bottom of the cylinder head or the upper side of the engine block has already been modified so an adequate valve recess cannot be maintained.
  • Additional oil piping is required in order to install this kit.
  • This kit does not include the camshaft for the exhaust side.
  • It’s recommended to upgrade the factory oil pump to the large capacity type.
  • Sparate purchase of the F-CON V Pro3.4 or Valcon type RB control device is needed.

  • Oil lines (between the hydraulic take-out section of the engine side and the cylinder head cover.)

  • Allowable rotating speed: 8000 rpm
  • Cylinder head Modification: No

  • Oil Pump: Recommends HKS enhanced parts
  • Engine Oil: Recommend HKS SUPER TURBO RACING 15W50 or HKS Racing Pro 10W50
  • Timing Belt: Inspect the wear or tension each drive 10,000 km. Adjust them if necessary.
  • Other: The valve timing may not reach the target value due to insufficient hydraulic pressure when the viscosity is low. It cannot have an advanced angle when the water temperature of 60 degrees or lower.
