The Skyjacker 3.5-4" Softride(R) rear leaf springs are designed to provide enhanced ride quality and durability for Jeep CJ models from 1955 to 1975. Constructed from American steel, each leaf is shot-peened with hard steel pellets at high velocities, which compresses the surface and increases the tensile strength of the spring. This process ensures maximum wheel travel and improved ride comfort without sacrificing spring life. The springs feature bolt-style spring clips that eliminate friction, unlike traditional bend clips that can cause binding and friction. Additionally, the springs taper along their entire length, allowing for more flex at the leaf ends, which distributes loads evenly and reduces the risk of leaf digging into adjacent leaves.
These springs are a direct replacement for stock leaf springs on 1955–1975 Jeep CJ models, offering a reliable upgrade for off-road and daily driving applications. They are designed to fit vehicles with a 3.5 to 4-inch lift, providing increased ground clearance and improved handling. Installation is straightforward as they are bolt-on components, compatible with the original mounting points. The kit includes the necessary leaf springs, and they are ideal for off-road enthusiasts seeking enhanced flex, load distribution, and spring longevity for rugged terrain or improved on-road performance.

Overview
Overview
Softride(R) springs use only American steel and the individual leafs of each spring are shot-peened with hard steel pellets at very high velocities. This shot-peening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the spring. Without this shot-peening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Softride(R) springs use bolt style spring clips, eliminating friction. Other spring designs use the c in. style bend clips which bend tightly over the spring leafs causing binding and friction. Skyjacker(R) Softride(R) springs taper over the entire length of the leaf creating more flex at the leaf ends. This tapering distributes loads more evenly over a greater area and reduces the tendency for one leaf to dig into the leaf above it.
