The Skyjacker 4-inch Softride Front Springs for 1961-1993 Dodge trucks are high-performance leaf springs designed to enhance ride quality and wheel travel. Constructed from American steel, each leaf is shot-peened with hard steel pellets at high velocities to increase tensile strength and durability. This shot-peening process compresses the steel surface, allowing for maximum flex and improved load distribution without sacrificing spring life. The springs utilize bolt-style spring clips, which eliminate friction and binding issues common with other clip designs. Their tapered design along the entire length of each leaf provides more flex at the ends, promoting even load sharing and reducing the tendency for leaves to dig into each other, resulting in a smoother, more controlled ride.

These springs are a direct replacement fit for 1961-1993 Dodge trucks, suitable for various applications including off-road, towing, or daily driving. Designed specifically for the front suspension, they are ideal for vehicles requiring a 4-inch lift. Installation involves replacing the existing springs with these bolt-on units, offering a straightforward upgrade to improve vehicle stance and performance. The kit includes the necessary leaf springs and hardware for a complete upgrade. Compatible with Dodge models from that era, these springs are engineered to provide increased flex, strength, and longevity for demanding driving conditions.

Overview

Softride(R) springs use only American steel and the individual leafs of each spring are shot-peened with hard steel pellets at very high velocities. This shot-peening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the spring. Without this shot-peening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Softride(R) springs use bolt style spring clips, eliminating friction. Other spring designs use the c in. style bend clips which bend tightly over the spring leafs causing binding and friction. Skyjacker(R) Softride(R) springs taper over the entire length of the leaf creating more flex at the leaf ends. This tapering distributes loads more evenly over a greater area and reduces the tendency for one leaf to dig into the leaf above it.
