The Skyjacker Leaf Spring for 1973-1976 Ford F-100 4 Wheel Drive is a high-performance suspension component designed to enhance load-carrying capacity and ride quality. Constructed with American steel, these Softride springs feature shot-peened individual leafs, which increase tensile strength and durability. The shot-peening process compresses the steel surface with high-velocity steel pellets, allowing for maximum wheel travel and improved ride comfort without compromising spring life. Additionally, the springs utilize bolt-style spring clips that eliminate friction, unlike traditional bend clips that can cause binding. The tapering design along the entire length of each leaf provides increased flex at the ends, distributing loads more evenly and reducing the risk of leaf dig-in, resulting in a smoother, more controlled ride.

Designed specifically for 1973-1976 Ford F-100 models with four-wheel drive, these springs are a direct replacement for stock components. They are ideal for off-road use, heavy hauling, or applications requiring enhanced suspension performance. The kit includes the necessary leaf springs with the specified SKU FR54S, ensuring compatibility with the original chassis and suspension setup. Easy to install as a bolt-on upgrade, these springs improve vehicle stability and load handling, making them suitable for both daily driving and off-road adventures.

Overview

Softride(R) springs use only American steel and the individual leafs of each spring are shot-peened with hard steel pellets at very high velocities. This shot-peening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the spring. Without this shot-peening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Softride(R) springs use bolt style spring clips, eliminating friction. Other spring designs use the c in. style bend clips which bend tightly over the spring leafs causing binding and friction. Skyjacker(R) Softride(R) springs taper over the entire length of the leaf creating more flex at the leaf ends. This tapering distributes loads more evenly over a greater area and reduces the tendency for one leaf to dig into the leaf above it.
