The Skyjacker Leaf Spring for 1977-1979 Ford F-250 4 Wheel Drive is a high-performance suspension component designed to enhance load capacity and ride quality. Constructed from American steel, these Softride springs feature shot-peened individual leafs with hard steel pellets at high velocities, which increases tensile strength and durability. The tapering design throughout the length of each leaf allows for more flex at the ends, promoting even load distribution and reducing the risk of leaf binding. The use of bolt-style spring clips eliminates friction and binding issues common with other designs, resulting in smoother operation and longer spring life. These springs are engineered to maximize wheel travel and improve overall suspension performance, especially under heavy loads or off-road conditions.
Designed as a direct replacement for 1977-1979 Ford F-250 models with 4WD, these springs are suitable for off-road, towing, and heavy-duty applications. They are intended for use on trucks with the specified year range and chassis, providing a reliable upgrade to stock suspension components. Installation involves bolt-on replacement of existing springs, offering a straightforward upgrade for improved ride quality and load handling. The kit includes the necessary leaf springs and hardware, ensuring compatibility and ease of installation. These springs are ideal for off-road enthusiasts, heavy-duty work, or daily drivers seeking enhanced suspension performance and longevity.

Overview
Overview
Softride(R) springs use only American steel and the individual leafs of each spring are shot-peened with hard steel pellets at very high velocities. This shot-peening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the spring. Without this shot-peening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Softride(R) springs use bolt style spring clips, eliminating friction. Other spring designs use the c in. style bend clips which bend tightly over the spring leafs causing binding and friction. Skyjacker(R) Softride(R) springs taper over the entire length of the leaf creating more flex at the leaf ends. This tapering distributes loads more evenly over a greater area and reduces the tendency for one leaf to dig into the leaf above it.
