The Skyjacker Leaf Spring for 1980-1985 Toyota Pickup 4 Wheel Drive is a high-performance suspension component designed to enhance load capacity and ride quality. Constructed with American steel, these Softride springs feature shot-peened individual leafs, which increase tensile strength and durability. The shot-peening process compresses the steel surface with high-velocity steel pellets, allowing for maximum wheel travel and improved ride comfort without compromising spring life. Additionally, the springs utilize bolt-style spring clips that eliminate friction, reducing binding and wear compared to traditional bend clips. The tapering design along the entire length of the leaf creates more flex at the ends, distributing loads evenly and minimizing leaf dig-in, resulting in a smoother, more controlled ride.
This leaf spring is specifically engineered for 1980-1985 Toyota Pickup 4WD models, making it a direct replacement for stock suspension components. It is suitable for off-road use, towing, and heavy-duty applications where durability and performance are critical. The kit includes the necessary leaf springs with the specified part number T303S, designed to fit the chassis and suspension setup of these trucks. Installation is straightforward for those familiar with suspension upgrades, providing an effective upgrade to improve load handling and ride quality in demanding conditions.

Overview
Overview
Softride(R) springs use only American steel and the individual leafs of each spring are shot-peened with hard steel pellets at very high velocities. This shot-peening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the spring. Without this shot-peening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Softride(R) springs use bolt style spring clips, eliminating friction. Other spring designs use the c in. style bend clips which bend tightly over the spring leafs causing binding and friction. Skyjacker(R) Softride(R) springs taper over the entire length of the leaf creating more flex at the leaf ends. This tapering distributes loads more evenly over a greater area and reduces the tendency for one leaf to dig into the leaf above it.
