The Skyjacker Leaf Spring for 1980-1988 Toyota Pickup 4 Wheel Drive is a high-performance suspension component designed to enhance load-carrying capacity and ride quality. Constructed with American steel, these Softride springs feature shot-peened individual leafs, which increase tensile strength and durability. The shot-peening process involves bombarding the steel surface with hard steel pellets at high velocities, compressing the surface and preventing spring fatigue. Additionally, the springs utilize bolt-style spring clips, eliminating friction and binding issues common with other designs. The tapering along the entire length of each leaf allows for increased flex at the ends, promoting even load distribution and reducing the risk of leaf dig-in, resulting in improved wheel travel and overall suspension performance.

Designed specifically for 1980-1988 Toyota Pickup 4WD models, these springs are a direct replacement for the stock leaf springs. They are suitable for off-road, towing, and heavy-duty applications where enhanced durability and ride quality are desired. The kit includes the necessary leaf springs with bolt-style clips for straightforward installation. These springs are ideal for drivers seeking increased load capacity and improved suspension flexibility on their Toyota Pickup, ensuring reliable performance in demanding conditions.

Overview

Softride(R) springs use only American steel and the individual leafs of each spring are shot-peened with hard steel pellets at very high velocities. This shot-peening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the spring. Without this shot-peening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Softride(R) springs use bolt style spring clips, eliminating friction. Other spring designs use the c in. style bend clips which bend tightly over the spring leafs causing binding and friction. Skyjacker(R) Softride(R) springs taper over the entire length of the leaf creating more flex at the leaf ends. This tapering distributes loads more evenly over a greater area and reduces the tendency for one leaf to dig into the leaf above it.
