The Skyjacker Leaf Spring for 1980-1997 Ford F-350 4 Wheel Drive is a high-performance suspension component designed to enhance load-carrying capacity and ride quality. Constructed with American steel, these Softride springs feature shot-peened individual leafs, which increase tensile strength and durability. The shot-peening process involves hard steel pellets impacting the surface at high velocities, compressing the steel and extending spring life. Additionally, the springs utilize bolt-style spring clips that eliminate friction, unlike traditional bend clips that can cause binding. The tapering design along the entire length of the leaf creates more flex at the ends, distributing loads evenly and reducing the risk of leaf dig-in, resulting in improved wheel travel and overall suspension performance.
This leaf spring is a direct replacement for 1980-1997 Ford F-350 models with 4WD, suitable for trucks used in heavy-duty applications, off-road, or towing. It is designed to fit the specified year range and vehicle configuration without modification. The kit includes the necessary components for installation, providing a reliable upgrade to enhance suspension strength and ride comfort. Ideal for off-road enthusiasts, commercial use, or daily driving, this spring improves load distribution and longevity, ensuring consistent performance under demanding conditions.

Overview
Overview
Softride(R) springs use only American steel and the individual leafs of each spring are shot-peened with hard steel pellets at very high velocities. This shot-peening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the spring. Without this shot-peening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Softride(R) springs use bolt style spring clips, eliminating friction. Other spring designs use the c in. style bend clips which bend tightly over the spring leafs causing binding and friction. Skyjacker(R) Softride(R) springs taper over the entire length of the leaf creating more flex at the leaf ends. This tapering distributes loads more evenly over a greater area and reduces the tendency for one leaf to dig into the leaf above it.
