The Skyjacker Leaf Spring for 1987 GMC V3500 Pickup is a high-performance suspension component designed to enhance load capacity and ride quality. Constructed with American steel, these Softride springs feature shot-peened individual leafs, which increase tensile strength and durability. The shot-peening process involves firing hard steel pellets at high velocities to compress the steel surface, resulting in springs that can achieve maximum wheel travel and improved ride comfort without sacrificing longevity. Additionally, the springs utilize bolt-style spring clips that eliminate friction, reducing binding and wear compared to traditional bend clips. The tapering design along the entire length of the leaf creates more flex at the ends, distributing loads evenly and minimizing the risk of leaf dig-in, thereby enhancing overall suspension performance.
Designed specifically for 1987 GMC V3500 pickups, these springs are a direct replacement for stock leaf springs on models with similar specifications. They are suitable for applications requiring improved load handling, off-road use, or enhanced ride quality for daily driving. The kit includes the necessary components for installation, ensuring a straightforward bolt-on upgrade. Compatible with vehicles equipped with the appropriate chassis and suspension setup, these springs are ideal for owners seeking increased durability and performance in demanding conditions.

Overview
Overview
Softride(R) springs use only American steel and the individual leafs of each spring are shot-peened with hard steel pellets at very high velocities. This shot-peening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the spring. Without this shot-peening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Softride(R) springs use bolt style spring clips, eliminating friction. Other spring designs use the c in. style bend clips which bend tightly over the spring leafs causing binding and friction. Skyjacker(R) Softride(R) springs taper over the entire length of the leaf creating more flex at the leaf ends. This tapering distributes loads more evenly over a greater area and reduces the tendency for one leaf to dig into the leaf above it.
