The Skyjacker Leaf Spring for 1987-1988 Chevrolet V20 Suburban is a high-performance suspension component designed to enhance load-carrying capacity and ride quality. Constructed with American steel, these Softride springs feature shot-peened individual leafs, which increase tensile strength and durability. The shot-peening process involves hard steel pellets impacting the surface at high velocities, compressing the steel and extending spring life. Additionally, the springs utilize bolt-style spring clips that eliminate friction and binding issues common with other designs. The tapering along the entire length of each leaf allows for more flex at the ends, promoting even load distribution and reducing the tendency for leaves to dig into each other, resulting in improved wheel travel and overall suspension performance.
This leaf spring is specifically designed for 1987-1988 Chevrolet V20 Suburban models, fitting vehicles with the appropriate chassis and suspension setup. It is intended as a direct replacement or upgrade for stock springs, suitable for off-road, towing, or heavy-duty applications where enhanced durability and ride quality are desired. The kit does not include U-bolts, which are required for installation. Compatible with models equipped with the same chassis and suspension specifications, these springs provide increased load capacity and improved flex for demanding driving conditions, making them ideal for off-road enthusiasts and heavy-duty use.

Overview
Overview
Softride(R) springs use only American steel and the individual leafs of each spring are shot-peened with hard steel pellets at very high velocities. This shot-peening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the spring. Without this shot-peening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Softride(R) springs use bolt style spring clips, eliminating friction. Other spring designs use the c in. style bend clips which bend tightly over the spring leafs causing binding and friction. Skyjacker(R) Softride(R) springs taper over the entire length of the leaf creating more flex at the leaf ends. This tapering distributes loads more evenly over a greater area and reduces the tendency for one leaf to dig into the leaf above it.
