The Skyjacker Softride leaf springs for 1987-1995 Jeep Wrangler (YJ) are high-performance suspension components designed to enhance wheel travel and ride quality. Constructed from American steel, each leaf is shot-peened with hard steel pellets at high velocities to increase tensile strength and durability. This shot-peening process compresses the steel surface, allowing for maximum flex and load distribution without sacrificing spring life. The springs feature bolt-style spring clips that eliminate friction and binding, unlike traditional bend clips, ensuring smoother operation and longer-lasting performance. The tapered design along the entire length of each leaf provides increased flex at the ends, promoting even load distribution and reducing the risk of leaf dig-in, resulting in improved off-road capability and ride comfort.
These springs are specifically designed as a direct replacement for 1987-1995 Jeep YJ models, fitting vehicles with the stock chassis and suspension setup. Ideal for off-road enthusiasts and daily drivers seeking enhanced wheel travel and load handling, they are easy to install as bolt-on upgrades. The kit includes the necessary leaf springs and clips, ensuring a straightforward installation process. Suitable for off-road adventures, towing, or improving overall ride quality, these Softride springs deliver increased flexibility and strength for rugged Jeep YJ applications.

Overview
Overview
Softride(R) springs use only American steel and the individual leafs of each spring are shot-peened with hard steel pellets at very high velocities. This shot-peening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the spring. Without this shot-peening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Softride(R) springs use bolt style spring clips, eliminating friction. Other spring designs use the c in. style bend clips which bend tightly over the spring leafs causing binding and friction. Skyjacker(R) Softride(R) springs taper over the entire length of the leaf creating more flex at the leaf ends. This tapering distributes loads more evenly over a greater area and reduces the tendency for one leaf to dig into the leaf above it.
