â–¶ Vehicle Fitments
The Skyjacker Leaf Spring for 2004-2008 Ford F-150 is a high-performance suspension component designed to enhance load capacity and ride quality. Constructed with American steel, these Softride springs feature shot-peened individual leafs, which increase tensile strength and durability. The shot-peening process involves bombarding the steel surface with hard steel pellets at high velocities, compressing the surface and preventing spring fatigue. Additionally, the springs utilize bolt-style spring clips that eliminate friction and binding issues common with other designs. The tapering of the springs along their entire length allows for more flex at the leaf ends, promoting even load distribution and reducing the risk of leaf dig-in, ultimately improving wheel travel and ride comfort.
Designed specifically for 2004-2008 Ford F-150 models, these leaf springs are a direct replacement for stock components and are suitable for both on-road and off-road applications. They are ideal for trucks that require enhanced load-carrying capacity and improved suspension performance. The bolt-on design ensures straightforward installation, making them suitable for DIY enthusiasts and professional installers alike. These springs are engineered to withstand demanding conditions, providing increased longevity and consistent performance under heavy loads or rough terrain. Compatibility is limited to the specified year range and vehicle make/model, ensuring a precise fit for optimal suspension function.

Overview
Overview
Softride(R) springs use only American steel and the individual leafs of each spring are shot-peened with hard steel pellets at very high velocities. This shot-peening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the spring. Without this shot-peening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Softride(R) springs use bolt style spring clips, eliminating friction. Other spring designs use the c in. style bend clips which bend tightly over the spring leafs causing binding and friction. Skyjacker(R) Softride(R) springs taper over the entire length of the leaf creating more flex at the leaf ends. This tapering distributes loads more evenly over a greater area and reduces the tendency for one leaf to dig into the leaf above it.
