The SPL Parts 89-98 Nissan Skyline (R32/R33) Front Tension Rods are high-performance suspension components designed to enhance steering response and adjust front caster settings. Constructed with large diameter (1 3/8") billet 6061-T6 rods that are CNC machined and gun drilled, these tension rods reduce unsprung weight while maintaining high strength and stiffness. They feature low-friction articulating 3/4" FK spherical bearings that replace stock rubber bushings, providing a more direct and responsive steering feel. The inclusion of a 4130 chromoly double adjuster allows for wide and precise caster adjustments, while blue anodized titanium hardware further reduces weight without sacrificing durability. Custom 3/4" FK rod ends with Teflon liners ensure quiet operation, low friction, and smooth articulation under load, with high load capacity and increased wear resistance, operating effectively from -65°C.
Designed specifically for 1989–1998 Nissan Skyline models (R32 and R33) with the GTR variant, these tension rods are an ideal upgrade for performance-oriented street and track use. Our SPL Parts Tension Rods (TR) provide for adjustment of front caster, allowing you to change front caster to optimize the turn-in response and to compensate for variances between the left and right caster. Low-friction articulating 3/4" FK Spherical Bearings on our Tension Rods eliminate the stock mushy rubber bushing to provide a more responsive steering feel. Engineered for maximum performance, Large diameter (1 3/8") Billet 6061-T6 Rods are precision CNC machined and gun drilled to reduce unsprung weight while maintaining high strength and stiffness. Our exclusive 4130 Chromoly Double Adjuster offers wide adjustment range and precise adjustment, and is also CNC gun drilled to reduce weight. Blue Anodized Titanium hardware shaves even more unsprung weight from the arms, without compromising strength. Custom 3/4" 3 piece FK Bearings Rod Ends manufactured in Connecticut feature a Teflon liner to provide quiet operation, low friction, smooth articulation, and eliminates bushing deflection under load. The PTFE liner is chemically bonded to the inner diameter of the race. The liner offers a very high load carrying capacity and has greatly increased dynamic wear characteristics.
