The Spoon SW388 is a forged aluminum wheel produced by Spoon Sports and recognized as an iconic model within the Spoon brand. Originally developed in the 1990s in collaboration with Desmond Corporation, the SW388 was introduced in 1996 with the goal of achieving extremely lightweight construction. Production ended in 1999, and the wheel has since become closely associated with Spoon’s motorsport heritage.
The modern SW388 has been re-released and is machine forged in Japan by Tan-Ei-Sya in Toyama Prefecture. It features an anodized black finish, which Spoon notes is lighter and stronger than paint. Designed for performance-focused Honda applications, the SW388 reflects Spoon’s emphasis on lightweight forged engineering and authentic racing history.
