The Wilwood Starlite 55 Wide 5 Hub with Snap-Cap is a high-performance wheel hub designed for racing and enthusiast applications. Constructed from permanent mold, high-density aircraft aluminum, it offers exceptional strength comparable to magnesium hubs while maintaining a lightweight profile. The Starlite "55" features a redesigned, weight-optimized construction that eliminates unnecessary material, resulting in a hub assembly that balances durability with minimal weight. The inclusion of 5-bolt drive flanges and snap-cap front hubs further reduces overall weight, making these hubs ideal for performance-focused setups. Built by Wilwood, a recognized leader in high-performance automotive components, these hubs deliver reliable strength and precision for demanding use cases.
Designed for a wide range of vehicles with 5-lug bolt patterns, the Wilwood Starlite 55 hubs are suitable for race cars, track days, and high-performance street builds. They are engineered to fit specific applications requiring lightweight, durable hubs with high strength-to-weight ratios. These hubs are intended as direct replacements or upgrades for existing wheel hub assemblies, providing improved performance and reduced unsprung weight. Installation involves standard bolt-on procedures, and the kit includes the hubs with snap-cap front components. Compatibility depends on matching the 5-lug bolt pattern and vehicle specifications, making them suitable for various chassis and wheel configurations in racing or high-performance street environments.

Overview
Starlite "55" hubs provide the superior strength of permanent mold, high-density aircraft aluminum at weights comparable to the much higher priced magnesium hub assemblies. The Starlite "55" features the strength of our traditional Starlite hub, but redesigned to eliminate unnecessary weight in the hub and its related components. 5 bolt Drive flanges and snap-cap front hubs pare the 'loaded' weight of these hubs to being the lightest available.
Wilwood is a leading manufacturer of high-performance brake systems and components to fit a wide range of track and street applications. They offer everything from individual components like rotors, calipers, and pads to complete bolt-on kits.
Wilwood Engineering designs and manufactures high-performance disc brake systems. Since the company’s inception in 1977 by Bill Wood, we have developed a substantial matrix of brake components and engineering techniques that allow us to quickly and reliably create brake systems for almost any application. Our core ability is the rapid development of custom engineered brake systems using a combination of off-the-shelf and custom components. In addition to designing and manufacturing brakes for all types of competitive motorsports, Wilwood also manufactures brake systems and components for agricultural equipment, industrial applications, utility vehicles, snowmobiles, quads, motorcycles and military vehicles.
With headquarters in Camarillo, California, Wilwood employs approximately 320 people. We have on-shelf stock of more than 300 different brake calipers, 200 rotor designs, 100 master cylinder designs and a wide assortment of brackets, fittings, valves and brake lines. Our off-shelf brake calipers range in size from tiny calipers used on go-carts and light duty industrial equipment to heavy-duty original equipment brakes for the U.S. military Humvee.
Wilwood's engineering department uses the latest computer-aided design and manufacturing techniques in conjunction with finite element analysis, dynamic test and cycle test equipment to find high-performance and reliability solutions for the most difficult braking tasks. Our extensive inventory of proprietary on-the-shelf components allow us to provide cost-effective solutions for unique brake applications.
Wilwood is ISO 9000 compliant and has extensive experience maintaining quality levels of 100ppm or less for original equipment manufacturers.
